It was a later start for the ladies this morning, giving a little extra time for those who had been to the teams party the night before. Lisanne ran the warm up with some great focus on our dynamic stretching.
The focus today was getting our offense organized for Easterns. We focused on two cutting drills, learning to work together and planning ahead for the future plays four or five passes after the pull.
Vertical 3 cuts
-cut 1: in cut from the front of the stack and go deep
-cut 2: out cut from middle of the stack and in for first pass
-cut 3: out cut from the back for the second pass and then a look to the cutter #1 in the endzone
Notes: cuts should start early, turning to the disc when it is about to be caught. Today we were running at about 58%, should be run 100% especially since there is no defense.
Spread stack
-starting on the sideline with cutting in the middle. *when in the middle you are at a full sprint!
-mirroring cuts from partner
-when disc is released everyone is on the go.
Notes: 1-Remember to stay close to the handler, wait till the disc is up to start pushing the field. 2-Use the space you're given when cutting, take advantage. 3-take your time with throws, know the cuts and wait for one to open up.
The practice ended with two endzone plays, details will be sent out over email. Heads up for the key words because they can be called at any time. Dwyer will be calling endzone plays in practice this week so make sure you're ready to go when you hear a play called.
Easterns is this weekend! We have 3 more practices left. (no practice Friday)
Make sure you...
