Tryout Review - Sept 11th

Announcements:
  • Make sure Taylor has your e-mail to add you to the contact list. Phone number might also be useful in case we need to contact you.
  • Last tryout is tomorrow. This will allow late comers to be seen. We will have breakfast at Sick Kids following Wednesday tryouts. We will post the teams here by Wednesday night.
  • Tournaments:
    • Sept 22-23 - Ottawa for Easterns (both A and B)
    • Oct 12, 13, and 14 - Vancouver for Nationals (unlikely B team will go)
Practice:
  • Warmup
  • Lotto
    • Discussed one aspect of Lotto in the three man drill. The mark is very important and Kirk talked about moving your feet, keeping your hands moving and wide, and staying low.
  • Breakforce 45s
    • Emphasis is on a bunch of points:
      • Completion
      • Release early
      • Setup your throw with fakes
      • Lead the cutter
  • Huck for scores
    • Completion is important
    • Lead the cutters up the line
  • Scrimmage
    • An okay game with some good showing of skills.
Notes:
  • Good level of talent, but we have to work hard to make ourselves into good enough teams to compete with the rest of the continent.
