The focus for all of our drills today was to pay attention to our "in" game and beating/tricking the defense.

The breakdown...
  • Running through the disc
  • Getting aggressive with a defender on our shoulder
  • Faking with a tight mark
  • turning and throwing quickly
  • hard cut after the throw
Overall it was more of a fine tuning day.
Drills:
  • Go to with set up cut: Knowing when to start your cut and to practice "faking" with that much of a distance before you cut in to the disc
  • Dump flow: Turning with the flight of the disc to get that extra step on your defender for the swing pass.
  • Lotto: Running hard through your cut and making that extra push to beat the other team to the disc.
  • Redemption: Faking your defender out with pivots and quick hand movement.
    • Winners: Round 1) Katrina & Round 2) Lexi
    • Finalists: Round 1) Kelly Nak & Round 2) Katrina
Start practicing the positions, movements and angles we have been working this week, at some point they will be committed to muscle memory and will happen automatically. Keep working hard and I'll see you tomorrow for our Friday scrimmage!
