Tula B - September 25th

Back campus today as a result of soccer. Not sure what's up with that. Keep an eye on the BBS and A team blog posts to look for changes in our practice plans due to intramural sports. Lot's of people missing today. Lot's of people doing pushups tomorrow. Can't use back campus as an excuse, because I was at front campus redirecting people until 7:40.

Warmed up with the A team.

Lotto.

Talked about our weekend. Synopsis: Good times and we're all pretty stoked for Montreal. Areas for improvement: mostly spreading the field and creating better spacing.

Throws for scores. Focus on game throws, not golf throws. Try to fake before you throw. Emphasis on flat throws leading the receiver, not on maximum distance. A little bit of curl towards your receiver is okay, but if the disc blades into the turf it's much harder to time. Try to run and throw straight down the field, so the receiver can adjust to the throw with ease.

Two-way Box. This is a fun drill, but it also works on serious ultimate skills. On offence, possession is everything. On defence, be ready to defend either endzone. Talk to your teammate(s) about strategy... for instance, how do you want to handle the force?

Talked about individual experiences of the weekend and assessments of how we played.

Tomorrow we will be focusing on fitness. Every third practice will be a fitness practice. On these days, try to bring running shoes as well as cleats.
